Ridiculous response that sounds good on the surface but every one cannot afford to stay at home and school their kids.

Why is it “ridiculous” to suggest that people raise their own children? It’s foolish to me to hand over our kids to strangers for the majority of their childhood. If we can afford to homeschool our kids, anyone can. It’s a matter of priorities.

Many of the homeschool moms in our co-op work part time so they are able to be there for their kids and still contribute to the family’s income. It’s a defeatist attitude to simply say it’s unaffordable and give up your child to be trained by the state.

People need to focus on what’s really important and pass on the materialism.

Most of family’s second income is spent on extra clothes for work, more convenience foods and eating out, daycare and babysitters, and a myriad of other little extra expenses that re incurred.

It CAN be done and I know plenty of homeschool families who did it on one income and were by the world’s standards, poor.

Someone just has to want to do it bad enough.

Besides, for those few who literally cannot do it, the kids would be better off NOT being in school at all.
