As a pundit said this weekend, we have strict security for airports, concerts, courthouses, etc. We should spend at least that much effort and money on protecting the country’s kids.

I know we long for the says when chewing gum was the worst “crime” committed in school. Sadly, God was taken out of schools and circumstances have changed. We need to change along with the times.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

An armed, trained security guard can stop a shooter.

You mean like the one in Florida??

I never posted that “an armed, trained security guard can stop a shooter”. Perhaps that was another poster?

My post had to do with screening checkpoints before a person can enter a facility.

Isn’t the local school board responsible for the children’s safety? Can’t they be sued for loss?

I wonder why there has never been a mass shooting at a homeschool?

Ridiculous response that sounds good on the surface but every one cannot afford to stay at home and school their kids.

The other thing involved here is that the Dems (and the rest of the political and media classes) will keep on sending their kids to very expensive and exclusive private schools, but then are still able to receive money and support from the teachers’ unions and not do anything to upset that relationship.

Among the last things that the teachers’ unions would likely want would be to start really cracking down on the discipline problems (beginning with the petty incidents in the manner that Rudy Giuliani took when mayor of NYC), because increased suspensions and expulsions and even criminal prosecutions would cut student numbers down (that unions depend on greatly for money). It would also run counter to what many ones like Broward’s Robert Runcie want in place to deal with blacks and other racial minorities (Hispanics, etc) in keeping disciplinary actions towards such students to a bare minimum if any.

The Dems (like Andrew Cuomo and many others who lecture about the NRA) and their friends have the best of both worlds in this situation because habitual problem students and their potential threat are among the last things to be worried about at the expensive, exclusive private schools.

The problem if there is a problem is limited to high schools.

The remedy is well known and widely practiced.

Limit entry points. Provide armed security at the entry points.

The school killer in Parkland was home schooled too. Now what?

If it was, we’d certainly know it.

And the answer is four bodies.

Why is it “ridiculous” to suggest that people raise their own children? It’s foolish to me to hand over our kids to strangers for the majority of their childhood. If we can afford to homeschool our kids, anyone can. It’s a matter of priorities.

Many of the homeschool moms in our co-op work part time so they are able to be there for their kids and still contribute to the family’s income. It’s a defeatist attitude to simply say it’s unaffordable and give up your child to be trained by the state.

The real problem is the large schools. There is no way any teacher/ administrator can keep track of all the students. The students just become a number.

Large central schools were created to indoctrinate students to the guberments thinking. The repercussions were never thought about. Cookie cutter results do not always happen.

“Democrats need to stop capitalizing on school shootings to promote the idea of policy change on gun ownership.“

The issue is never the issue.

The Left hates you. The Left hates your kids.

They want you dead. They want your kids dead.

Plan accordingly.

I recall back when terrorists began their attacks on the US and stated to my wife, “IF someone wanted to make a major impact on the US, start with the schools”. Horrible statement and thought but seems my thoughts were hacked and put into use.
