Royal Wedding Emblematic of the Decline of the Church of England
https://pjmedia.com ^ | MAY 19, 2018 | BY PAULA BOLYARD

The ceremony itself featured an African-American bishop who cited the American civil rights movement and quoted Martin Luther King Jr. as often as he did Jesus. The couple opted for a secular song, “Stand by Me,” performed by a predominantly black gospel choir—jaws literally dropped—in addition to old-school Christian hymns sung by the congregation. The traditional Anglican vows were altered slightly to allow the outspoken feminist Markle to opt out of the traditional promise to obey her husband.

While the acceptance of people of color into the royal fold is a welcome and long-overdue change, the acceptance of divorce and immorality by the Church of England is another thing altogether. That the Church blessed the union at all, coming as it did after the couple had been openly cohabitating and in light of Markle’s divorce, signals a radical departure from the traditions of the church headed by Queen Elizabeth, who inherited the title “Defender of the Faith” on the day of her coronation. That designation was first granted to King Henry the VIII by Leo X in 1521. Henry VIII, you will recall, famously left the Catholic church after the Pope refused to annul his marriage to first marriage to Catherine of Aragon. He later appointed himself Supreme Head of the Church of England and went on to wed five more women.

After your lifestyle shunning Sarah Ferguson?

Sarah Ferguson has been shunned by the entire royal family - even though she's been living with her ex-husband Andrew. (Isn't he allegedly a pedo?)

There is no way the queen was going to have Sarah at that wedding. If Mehgan couldn't have Obama there, no way could Sarah be invited.

Poor Princess Margret forced into a loveless marriage and finally divorced.

I have read that one of the first things Queen Elizabeth did after the coronation was to change the law so that Margaret could never become queen if Elizabeth pre-deceased her.

Sarah WAS at the wedding. She was not invited to the receptions though. Her daughters were. Supposedly Prince Phillip can’t stand to be in the same room as her, don’t know why. Stll carrying a grudge for her embarrassing the Royal Family. Wait till he sees Megan Markle in action, now that she is part of the family.

Want to place bets as to when the royal divorce will come between Harry and Megan? Prince Phillip won’t live to see it though. He’s 96 years of age now. An amazingly strong man, walking in to the Church on his own after having a hip replacement just a month ago.

Sarah was there. She wasn’t allowed to come in with or sit with the royals, but they showed her entering the church by herself right before the acceptable royals all arrived. The news people even mentioned that she lives in the same house as her husband and that they have a good relationship.

The Queen can’t change laws. Margaret was second in line until EII gave birth to Charles, and moved down as the Queen’s own offspring increased. Margaret remained in the line of succession until her death.

Sarah was at the wedding? I’m surprised. No wonder the queen looked so torqued.

Meghan “casting couch” Markle shunned Sarah Ferguson? What a hypocritical, snotty b***h.

From what I understand, William and Harry are still close to Fergie. Sarah and Andrew are still friends and actually live together. That wasn’t a good move by Markle.

I saw on one tabloid cover just today that “bombshell news that Meghan is pregnant”. Why does that not surprise me....

“He looked like a bum in a fancy uniform.”

I have a feeling you agree with Jeff Sessions on all issues including legalized marijuana. And is your middle name “Beauregard”?

The fact that the 36 year old divorced woman wore a veil over her face was a little much

I could not agree more. It was absurd she had a second "white" wedding. More like playing a part than deserved.

When Margaret wanted to marry her love, Peter Townsend, Elizabeth had an agreement drawn up that required that she give up any right to succession to the throne.

Even more absurd, this one was apparently Mehgan's THIRD wedding! She had one of them annulled. A real go-getter!

This scruff look is for a two week camping trip, not a royal wedding. Either grow a proper beard, as the Victorians did, or shave.

Sarah Ferguson was at the wedding and sat in the Royal family section by her ex husband and 2 daughters.

That was done by PM Eden and the Church of England. The Queen would have no power to do it on her own. I don’t believe the ‘Summary of Procedure’ was ever acted on.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Harry has had his beard for quite a while now, not for a 2 week camping trip. It isn’t scruff. It is what he can grow and it’s a lot longer than scruff. Men have always had beards, throughout history. Get off your moral high horse sir. It’s as unattractive as what you allege Harry’s beard is.

I thought it was Elizabeth who asked Prime Minister Eden to do it. I don’t think he did it on his own. Ironically, Eden had been divorced himself!

How times change!

I believe the original story was that it was the Queen Mum and Winston Churchill (and even Cabinet ministers!)who were the main players.

Here’s a version of the events:

Hmmm...something tells me that there was no love lost between the sisters. That’s sad, but I guess it happens in all families.

England is dead!
I bet when the Rapture happens less than 1% of that population is taken - thus no immediate impact on life in that evil hell-hole.
