After year of investigation, Trump can rightly claim some vindication
The Hill ^ | 05/19/18 10:00 | Jonathan Turley

It was called “Crossfire Hurricane,” the FBI counterintelligence operation that targeted Trump figures as part of the investigation into possible campaign ties to Russia. It was a poignant choice of a Rolling Stones song, “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” that describes a man “born in a crossfire hurricane” who “howled at the morning driving rain.”

It could be an apt description of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. After a year of media denials of his claims of surveillance targeting his campaign, Trump can legitimately claim some vindication. Indeed, with his rising poll numbers, the president must feel, in the words of the song, like “it's all right now, in fact, it’s a gas.”

The New York Times this week disclosed that the FBI made a conscious effort to use secret counterintelligence powers to investigate Trump officials and may have had a confidential informant who was used in connection with key Trump figures long before the November 2016 election. (Officials stated anonymously that this was a longstanding source who worked with both the FBI and CIA for years.)

Etc...

A very good article indeed, especially coming from “The Hill” which seems to lean left looking at the moonbat comments at the article.

My understanding through reading other sources is that It wasn’t an informant but an operative used to inject or fabricate a reason to open the illegal counterintelligence operation against the president.

"Until then, many Americans across the country will continue to believe that, like “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” Trump was greeted after his election by being “crowned with a spike” right through his head."

Turley sure got this 'right'!!!

Turley is realizing that the American people are seeing right through this fraudulent investigation. I’m sure he, like many of the other legal pundits, knew all about this scheme to frame Trump and was all in. Now that it’s unraveling and being exposed as a fraud Turley is backing away and going into CYA mode to protect his reputation. These people are something else!

Hill articles tend to strongly lean left but they seem to have an inside track to what's going on politically at any moment.

The key to reading articles on The Hill is to recognize the obvious liberal bias and flip the script.

I also like debating in the comment section.

You get a very clear idea of liberal group-think talking points on any issue and it gives you an opportunity to research their claims and counter them with facts.

Jumpin' Jack Flash is a 1986 American spy comedy film starring Whoopi Goldberg.

Set against the backdrop of the pre-Glasnost Cold War, Terry receives the message, "Knock, Knock," and is contacted by a man calling himself "Jumpin' Jack Flash" who turns out to be a British Intelligence agent in Eastern Europe who is being pursued by the KGB. After being given a riddle for his password,

Terry determines the password to be B-flat, after the key in which "Jumpin' Jack Flash" is supposedly written (as the actual song by the Rolling Stones is recorded in the key of B-flat). Jack sends her to the British Consulate to deliver the message "Dog's barking, can't fly without umbrella" to Department C.

CLAIM SOME VINDICATION???

He has been proven to be the most squeaky clean person ever elected to public office!

A YEAR of THE INQUISITION and intense scrutiny of EVERYTHING by an ARMY of GOTCHA GOONS and all they can scrape up is some nasty words he said in private and a woman he might have banged some years ago!

WHO ELSE COULD UNDERGO SUCH AN INQUISITION AND COME OUT THAT CLEAN?????

Certainly not the corrupt politicians in Washington and their henchpersons in the "news media"!

Certainly not the degenerates of Hollywood!

Certainly not the educated morons of academia!

TRUMP OUGHT TO GET SOME KIND OF MR. CLEAN AWARD!

These lawyers probably understand an important implication of these stories that ordinary laypeople don't even think about:

Mueller's team is currently prosecuting multiple cases against more than a dozen defendants related to this "Russian collusion" nonsense, and these defendants have the legal right to see all of this information about the investigation -- including the names of these FBI operatives and all of their communications with the DOJ, CIA, etc. -- to defend themselves against these charges.

That’s a great point. Rush was talking about Concord Management the last few days and the fact they hired a legal team to fight against Mueller’s indictment. It’s a sham and everyone knows it. Mueller’s hand is being forced. He can’t very well drop the indictment but he can’t go forward with this case unless they fabricate the evidence against Concord, and I would think this would all be exposed in a trial. Turley sees all this and knows the jig is up!
