SANTA FE, Texas (KTRK) -- As Santa Fe, Texas, mourns 10 lives lost in a school shooting, one prominent member of the Houston area community is reaching into his pockets to ease things for victims' families in the aftermath.
The Houston Texans confirmed Friday night that star defensive end J.J. Watt will pay for the funerals of all the victims in the tragedy.

I agree. In exchange, he should demand some accountability from the schools regarding what they plan to do about security. Or, he could just keep paying for funerals, I guess.

Such a stand-up guy. Funerals can be very expensive for working class families with no financial cushion.
JJ Watt raised $38 million in private donations with his Hurricane relief fund last year, and now this promise. He has been talked about as a future political candidate. He does have poise and confidence...somebody to keep an eye on. He strikes me as a conservative, so we shall see.
Excellent roll model, great ambassador for the Houston area and Texas.
I think this school had 3 armed resource officers. One was wounded in stopping this dweeb.

My take is this could have been much worse.

Umm, I don’t think it’s clear yet what JJ’s political stripes are. But, I won’t be surprised if he surprises us....

JJ is a Class Act we would all do well to emulate.

Did police/swat at least shoot and injure the dweeb you mention? All I heard on the actual tv news is he was in custody/arrested.
Why not give the money anonymously?
People show up at homeless shelters on Thanksgiving to ‘help’ them even though the issue is all year. They do it for themselves.
