He is a very weird pedophile to many, and easily forgotten, not that I know anything about his "music".
I think God gives people talent. Michael Jackson was no Pavarotti, certainly, but he did have a type of appeal as an entertainer, to some people. I was not a fan, and he WAS a weirdo, but I read he and his brothers were terribly abused by their father, so that could account for some of that.
Some of us keep our ignorance private. But, I guess you need to shout it from the rooftop.
