A former executive of a North Texas hospice on Thursday admitted her role in an alleged $60 million scheme that included overdosing patients to "hasten their deaths," according to a court document.
Melanie Murphey, operations director for Novus Health Services in Frisco, pleaded guilty to federal health-care fraud charges. She faces up to ten years in prison.
She is expected to testify against 15 others involved in the alleged conspiracy, including Novus’ owner Bradley Harris and his wife Amy.
In court documents detailing her crime, Murphey said she was the "go-between" between Bradley Harris and five nurses and five doctors who are also charged in the alleged conspiracy. The others have pleaded not guilty.

When you give them the power to kill, they are going to do it.
And those who kill for profit are going to maximize their returns.
Never any audits of these places or the medicines?
It’s easy to get away with killing the elderly this way.
Killing the elderly who can't defend themselves....a killing spree initiated with legalizing the killing of the defenseless unborn.

That was the first words out of my mouth on hearing the Supreme's stupid ruling. Next will be the old people.
There was a time of moral certainty in this country.
People did not routinely shoot up schools, or kill elderly or their own unborn. All were UNUSUAL.
But morality has left the culture and we have destroyed self-control and self monitoring.
No one worries about their conscience. Or their afterlife.
Religion and moral training played a big role in the freedoms this country enjoyed.
We let them take it away.

To end someone’s life against their will is called murder.
Hospice has a valid place in society but when things like this happens it makes it hard on everyone.
Now all hospices will need to be monitored and policed.
Life has been getting cheaper and cheaper ever since they legalized abortion.
Average survival rate in Hospice reported as only 3 days.
From his pictures, Harris looks like he may be retarded. I suspect that his wife may be the brains of the operation.
Why do these death mean nothing?

According to the government they need to keep an average of 5 months alive for those on hospice. If they have too many patients, usually not needing very much attention, who are living too long, they need to bring down the average. A forgotten patient with Alzheimer’s, even a mild case, and a compliant, disinterested person who is legally in charge them can easily and quickly be taken down without much expense or notice. It’s murder and it goes on all the time.
I believe its a national trend, I suspect that is what happened to my dad.
