The Santa Fe High School shooter who killed between eight and ten people has been named as student Dimitrios ‘Dimitri’ Pagourtzis. Pagourtzis, 17, shared chilling photos on his – now removed – Facebook of a ‘Born to Kill’ t-shirt shortly before Friday morning’s massacre.

Plane 'containing 107 passengers' crashes in Havana, Cuba An Instagram account that appears to belong the 11th-grader shows him following multiple gun-related accounts, including ‘sickguns,’ ‘gunspictures’, as well as others called Guns Fanatics, Guns Lovers and Guns Glory. Only three photos were uploaded to it – a toy rifle attached to an arcade video game, a photo of a frog, and a picture of a gun, knife as well as torch lying on a bed. His Facebook bio declared: ‘YouTube is a Comma Kazi. It’s the one with the kamikaze pilot.

Pagourtzis’ Faceook page blasts YouTube – and reveals his plans to join the Marines. They have no record of him on their system A chilling photo of a ‘Born to Kill’ t-shirt uploaded to Pagourtzis’s Facebook feed, which has since been taken down A photo of the long military jacket Pagourtzis is said to have worn to the massacre.

He explained each of the badges in a caption underneath the photo ‘I’ve got a few playlists there.’ It also instructed people on how to pronounce his name – di-MI-tree-oas pag-OR-cheez – and directed people to watch videos there.

The page also appeared to display a photo of the black trench coat work by Pagourtzis during the massacre. It was adorned with various trinkets, which he explained below. He wrote: ‘Duster Hammer and Sickle = Rebellion Rising Sun = Kamikaze Tactics Iron Cross = Bravery Baphomet = Evil Cthulhu = Power.’ Pagourtzis was hailed as a talented football player on the Santa Fe Indians team – but some students said he was bullied A picture from an Instagram account apparently belonging to Pagourtzis, showing a toy rifle at being pointed at a video arcade game Another photo from the Instagram account showing a pistol, knife and torch on a bed The black and white Iron Cross is the highest German military decoration for bravery. It was introduced in 1813, but was redesigned in 1957 after the German government banned the production of Nazi-associated emblems. Some students claimed that Pagourtzis was bullied by students and another teacher.

A note on the Santa Fe Indians football team’s website hailed his ‘huge role’ in a game last October. Pargourtiz also said on the Facebook page that he was planning on joining the military in 2019, but a spokesman said there was no record of him on their files.

After the massacre, police rushed to the trailer park were Pagourtzis lived amid reports it had been booby-trapped with explosives. He is said to have used improvised explosive devices and pipe bombs during the slaughter.

don’t forget the bombs. Plus, they arrested one other person.

Way too few details at this point.

About time somebody said what I have been saying for almost 30 years!

Consolidating community schools started in the 60s to “save $ by cost sharing, providing more classes, labs, sports facilities, etc...

No-one considered the emotional/social needs of adolescents, and whether these could be met in these huge schools. I could go on and on about the benefits of small schools, where if you can walk and chew gum, you get to play on a sports team, where there aren’t enough of any one category of kids to form cliques.

Where teachers know each youth up close and personal, from one year to the next, and know the family situation... These teachers many times act as sports coaches, drama coaches, chaperone school dances, always show up at the sports games, and really know the kids.

They are able to support, re-direct, encourage, and sponsor kids who are having a difficult time for one reason or another.

Combine these huge high schools with no parent at home when school gets out, and many kids are left with no-one to help them navigate the difficulties of adolescence.

No prayer, Ten Commandments, or common morality - we have a recipe for total social disintegration. Nobody wants to face this inconvenient truth.

Banning guns will accomplish nothing.

A coworker told me he read the shooter had a MAGA gat and a flag but that was some other guy who showed up on scene after the shooting, but hey ‘Trump’. That’s all my coworker can ever say politically, what MSNBC and Huffpo tell him to think. No apologies no retractions.

.....”Way too few details at this point”...

That’s exactly right and how we all should look at this.

But bottom line is a shooter planned and killed his classmates.

Is there any word on what weapons he was using?

From things I've gathered over several articles it was a semi-auto pistol (possibly the one in the above-posted picture) and a shotgun - possibly with pistol grip - some said it was a sawed-off shotgun, but may have been the pistol grip's shorter length that led to that description. No description on the shotgun regarding type (semi-auto, pump, etc...).

It is 87degrees with 82 percent humidity in Santa Fe Texas right now.

The trenchcoat today should have been a tipoff to school security that something was odd.

Amazon.com sells a variety of BornToKill t-shirts, stickers, and patches.

Bet they don’t stop selling them in the next week they did stop all sales of ‘rebel’ or confederate flags.

That was in the old days, when common sense ruled.
It is NOT about school size.
It’s about character.

One (character and teaching character) does not exclude (school size) the other.
My high school in the 60s had 3000 in 3 grades. It was considered small for my town. Guns were freely available—by mail order even—yet no one shot up schools. So I agree with you about character.

On the other hand, a large school makes it possible for a kid to become invisible. A lot of kids want that; it helps them grow into adults. But recent events tell us that there are a lot of crazies out there. Big schools don’t cause crazies—at least I don’t think they do—but big schools don’t really help the crazies either, especially the quiet crazies.

A small school is less likely to miss the quiet, disturbed one and might be more likely to offer help. As I wrote earlier, I taught at a small K-8 school. Not to say we didn’t have disturbed kids, but we (the staff) knew who they were. I taught jr high, but I was fully aware of which 1st graders had problems. Sometimes, happily, the kid who was standing on his desk throwing books at his 4th grade teacher was able to sit through class and actually learn in 7th grade.

“Common sense ruled”. Ah, the ole “board of education”! That helped too!

So he used explosives in the attack but all focus is on guns?
Obviously we need a 3 day waiting period on pipe bombs. Duh!

They are desperately trying to insert a “assault style weapon” into the narrative.

Aren’t all weapons used to kill or maim assault style?

Oh, my mistake - this is why space aliens hate us.
