Irish psychiatrists are condemning the claim that the repeal of Irelands Eighth Amendment prohibiting most abortions is necessary for womens mental health.
To use health as a justification for abortion, when the vast majority of abortions do not take place on any kind of health ground, inverts the true purpose of medicine and doctors who value their calling should have nothing to do with this, write 24 Irish psychiatrists in a letter regarding the upcoming referendum on the amendment. Our Minister for Health, for his part, must defend the true purpose of medicine. The doctors get immediately to the core of the way in which the Left uses media to advance its narrative in the area of abortion.
Those pressing for repeal of the 8th amendment are presenting their case in the language of healthcare, they write. We believe that to present the case for repeal in such terms is fundamentally misleading because under the law as proposed by the Government, the vast majority of abortions would involve healthy babies and healthy women. This is not healthcare but something else entirely.

Aden notes in the United States, One abortionist in the Midwest notoriously approved a late-term abortion for a young woman who was stressed out because her pregnancy kept her from attending a rock concert.
Shoot, if one’s mental health could justify rubbing someone out...
Oh, nevermind.
The question becomes, Is there ANYTHING that a doctor CAN do that ethically they should not? It seems to me, more and more, that when i was in Med School long ago there was a long list of stuff that was on the list of no-nos. Anymore that list is down to almost nothing.
Well, give the bad guys their due - at least they know what they are doing - what they want, and how to get it.
When abortion was illegal, it was NEVER a crime to operate to stop torrential hemorrhage or septic shock, even if it led, inadvertently, to the death of the child inside the womb.
If abortion is made illegal again, or is kept illegal in the case of Ireland, special legislation to protect emergency. lifesaving interventions is not necessary.
As with the Culture of Death’s other pet cause - “physician-assisted suicide”. No doctor has EVER been convicted of a crime for using pain medication to relieve suffering from terminal cancer or other illness. It has never happened.
I wish that no DA had ever sought an indictment for this, but that’s why we have juries.
Doctors have a therapeutic privilege. No special legislation is necessary to defend it.
If Ireland legalizes abortion then they’ll have to find a lot of non-Christians to perform them - just as we did in the US.
I remember when it was called “therapeutic abortion” in CA. Even Reagan bought into it.
Good for mental health?
just the opposite:

Of course JAMA devised a study right away to show that it had no ill effect whatsoever

Most likely still cooking up some data to show that its actually good for you.
Sure it’s good. It gives a woman the opportunity to get depressed at their own convenience.
How are the babies’ mental health effected when they have their brains sucked-out? ...or when they are dissected and placed for sale?
