The daughter in law committed suicide. But the president later denied there was ever an affair. The son at first believed there had been an affair but maybe changed his mind later on. I’m not real clear on it all. I remember when it first happened. But I did not follow the story after we moved away from that area. All this happened during the Lewinsky Era.

Yes, that is what I thought had happened. It made me wonder about the college, but it may not be what it seemed to be.

One of the funniest moments was when some students collected every pink flamingo in Hillsdale County and put them all on the lawn of Broadlawn (the president's house.) Dr. Roche was not amused, but Mrs. Roche was. She took out an ad in the Hillsdale Daily News saying if you're missing your pink flamingo, come to Broadlawn to claim it.
