"It assumes that people are naturally cooperative, instead of competitive." And there you see one of it's many fundamental flaws. People have always been more prone to competition and usually only cooperate in small family or tribal groups that directly affect them. The reason why Capitalism works is because it nurtures peoples natural competitiveness and focuses it in productive ways that tend to benefit the overall society.
