My high school ROTC armory (yes, *armory* - it was stenciled as such on the steel door) had racks of single-shot .22 rifles obtained through the (then) Department of Civilian Marksmanship. Mossbergs, Remingtons and Winchesters. I guess I’m inclined to think first of single-shots where school shooting clubs are discussed.
