ABC: Mueller Now Probing Inaugural Committee Fundraising
Hot Air ^ | 11 Ma y 2018 | Ed Morrissey

And so the wide-ranging special counsel investigation ranges even further, raising questions about the transition as well as about the investigation itself. ABC News reports that Robert Mueller’s team has questioned a number of people about the massive fundraising for Donald Trump’s inauguration. The largely unregulated process raised $107 million from lots of sources, not all of them within the US:

The donors noted by ABC include one well-known name, Viktor Vekselberg, at least indirectly. The Russian billionaire, already under indictment by Robert Mueller, attended the inauguration, but it was his American relative and business partner Andrew Intrater who dropped a big chunk of money into the inauguration fund. Another billionaire with ties to Russia, Leonard Blatavnik, coughed up a million dollars as well. Intrater made two donations in 2017 to the RNC and their joint Trump Victory fund, both within the legal limits.

Certainly the existence of Russian influencers among the donors would catch the attention of investigators. The timing on all of this seems rather curious, including that of the report. These donations were listed on FEC records for a very long time, so why this has become an issue of late — if that’s the case — is somewhat confusing.

More confusing, though, is what this has to do with Russian collusion during the election. The hypothesis, for which we have seen no real evidence, is that the Trump campaign worked with Russia to (a) hack the DNC and (b) smear Hillary Clinton before Election Day. None of this has anything to do with the election. Why would Intrater’s legal donations in 2017 have anything to do with Mueller’s core mission? If they were illegal, that’s something that the Department of Justice could deal with directly without the special counsel.

Who paid for Hill’s election night luxuries?

It could be a personal check from Putin and nobody would care.

Bingo!

"The largely unregulated process..."

Why would special counsel be probing something that is unregulated and has no bearing on the election?

And when it was proven that obama and clinton were taking money from phantom, overseas donors, what was done?

If he does this for one, then he needs to investigate ALL past presidents’ inaugural fundraising! Hmmm, wonder what we’d see, lol.

Russians attempting to influence an election after the election was over. Mueller’s investigation is entering the moronic stage where what he is investigating.

But keep going Mueller. The electorate is increasingly getting pissed off by you and the absurdities, illegalities and coverups by the FBI. And that will be an incredible motivator for conservatives to go to the polls in the Fall. So keep digging Mueller. Look at events that occurred after-the-fact as evidence of a “crime” which has yet to be defined occurring in the past.

True, but no one seems willing and powerful enough to stop it. Now, what?

The witch hunt is turning into a proctology exam for anyone that ever met Trump.

No witches in here, next.

And our AG does nothing. He must hide under his desk when he knows that Mueller is in the building. We should start calling Sessions, Coach Kline, from, The Waterboy

I know that mueller has something...

What Mueller has is that it is Friday afternoon and he needs a "news" nugget to toss to the press to overshadow anything that may be happening back in the real world that might reflect positively on Trump like the NK situation.

The proof of Mueller's nothing charges was last week when the Russians, unexpectedly(!!!), actually showed up in court and said we're ready to go to trial now! Let's see your evidence (you know; actual stuff as opposed to the PR B.S. he's been feeding the MSM). Suddenly Mueller is scrambling begging for a delay in the trial. How very odd, if he actually has evidence.

So no. Mueller has a solid track record of being a f'n idiot and bully whose speciality is protecting murderers and persecuting the innocent all to protect the corrupt FBI. His game ends now. The corrupt FBI is called out now.

It's actually weirder. He needs to investigate events in the future which somehow caused an event in the past to occur. After all, he's now investigating the Inauguration which occurred after the election.

Novartis and ATT got caught doing what they and everyone else had done before the election: trying to buy influence with the winner. They picked wrong and were doing catch up. Neither got their money’s worth.

Mean, how much money was paid into the CF? Why do you think it was there. How about the huge dollars before the uranium one deal? Here is a clue for you MF Mueller, that was a bribe? How much did you get by way of legal feels or consultations??

I think the investigation itself IS the end goal. Sure, if they manage to stumble across some evidence of an actual crime they’ll be thrilled, but absent that their plan is to just keep the investigation going as long as possible. So long as Trump or those around him are being “investigated” the implication is that there must be something there. Mueller and his minions are just trying to maintain that cloud of suspicion over Trump for as long as they can, at least until the mid-terms.

Were the President’s name Washington, Adams, or Jefferson, these seditionists would have been swinging from ropes long before now.
