That individual, later identified as a 14-year-old former student at the school, was detained at a shopping center about an hour after the initial reports.
Authorities said a rifle was recovered a “distance away” in the desert a half-mile from the school.
“It was found in a field,” said sheriff’s Capt. Darren Harris. “It was discarded by the suspect as he was fleeing the area.”
That means the media will forget about in a day or two.
The shooter called his father when he left.
The father called a family friend who was in law enforcement and told him where the son was heading.
So probably not illegal.
