“GOP Rep. Carlos Curbelo (Fla.) filed the motion, known as a discharge petition ... joined by Republican Reps. Jeff Denham (Calif.), Will Hurd (Texas), Mario Díaz Balart (Fla.) and David Valadao (Calif.) as initial sponsors. .... Republicans who support immigration reform have grown increasingly frustrated at leadership over inaction on the issue.”
The Cross-the-Aisle, Open-Borders Republican caucus.
Nothing good for the citizens and the rule of law.
“The linked article does not explain what is in the bill the open borders crowd wants to force a vote on.”
The article below has more on the four different bills being considered, as well as the process. They have to have 219 representatives to sign on to the “queen of the hill” process to force the votes. Then they would adopt the one that got the most votes.
I think they’ll be able to get the 219 signatures to get it going.

Apparently they already have signatures from 15 republicans and only need 10 more.

I would not think the first 2 bills would get the most votes. The 4th bill would be like a mystery door.
NO AMNESTY!!! Build the WALL!! We haven’t laid a brick on the wall. All we are doing is repairing barbed wire fences!!
That goes up as the dumbest remark on the thread.
Importing cheap labor always ends badly.
Thanks! Sham on the GOP for it being that close.
