Apparently, without knowledge of the underlying sketchy context inside the application (Steele Dossier) of the FISA Title-1 surveillance warrant, on July 18th, 2017, Asst. AG Rod Rosenstein renews the FISA warrant as the 3rd continuance of an investigative tool.

Isn't it Rosenstein's job to know whether the FISA application is legitimate before he signs it? Why is the CTH making an excuse for Rosenstein?

I can't tell you why, but the whole article is clearly designed to give not only Rosenstein but Mueller cover for their criminal actions. Corey had already testified in open to Congress the dossier was unverified, so to claim Rosenstein was unaware is ridiculous.
