The NSA is the Defense Department and is under the supervision of DNI Dan Coats in the White House.
I hope the DOJ is just plain lying. They have little to fear doing so.

However if Sessions is smart, he will grab this chance to open he gates to congress.
If he is playing chess, he has just been given a great opening.
It has been said that there are 10,000 people in the DOJ.
So if 70% are dims, that means there are 7,000 that would stab him in the back at the first chance.
But now congress is forcing him to turn over documents requested.
This would give him a great opportunity to purge a few more obummer hangons.
So wait and see what Sessions does. If he does nothing, then he does need to go. If he is really fighting the swamp, this just gave him a good weapon.
