1) Cast tie-breaking votes in the Senate
2) Check on the health of the President
3) Attend funerals

Will someone tell me what he did to deserve a funeral at the National Cathedral? I’d rather it be a private family affair in Arizona. Don’t tell me he gets the honor because of his time in the Senate. If that’s the case, some Democrats we loathe will be eligible for the same treatment, including (horrors) Hillary Clinton.
McCain should have resigned or retired after he was implicated in the Keating Five scandal. Since then he has been the best argument among the Republicans for term limitation.
