I’m guessing it’s shallow. Hope things don’t get worse for those people.
13 earthquakes in Hawaii - all above 3.0 - within the past 2 hours.

Not saying this is that event because that time has not come. But your post reminded me of this:
Revelation 16:20 KJV
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
We’re a long way from that. Some will not agree with me.
Meanwhile, back to the story, WOW.
Where’s Joe???
Sharp cliffs and associated ocean debris at the Kohala Volcano, Lanai and Molokai indicate that landslides from the flank of the Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes in Hawaii may have triggered past megatsunamis, most recently at 120,000 BP.[30][31][32] A tsunami event is also possible, with the tsunami potentially reaching up to about 1 kilometre (3,300 ft) in height.[33][34] According to the documentary National Geographic’s Ultimate Disaster: Tsunami, if a big landslide occurred at Mauna Loa or the Hilina Slump, a 30-metre (98 ft) tsunami would take only thirty minutes to reach Honolulu, Hawaii. There, hundreds of thousands of people could be killed as the tsunami could level Honolulu and travel 25 kilometres (16 mi) inland. Also, the West Coast of America and the entire Pacific Rim could potentially be affected.
No one has said it....but it must be said....
TRUMPS FAULT
We probably should dispatch Hank Johnson to the town of Volcano, HI to monitor the impending capsizing of the lower east coast. Those arriving FEMA people certainly will cause a disturbance in the balance of the island.
My Brother in law lives on the North side of the island + texted me back after I asked how it felt: “...I was driving in our Jeep + it felt like people were jumping up + down on the bumper...”
My sis lives in the area. This big quake scared the hell out of her. This only got serious 2 days ago. Leilani estates now has magma in 3 places. Happening fast. She says emergency shelters are surprisingly disorganized right now and being overwhelmed by the homeless bums trying to score.
Locals are very good about taking care of each other, and they have had 2 big disasters there in about 4 yrs, so they are used to it. Hurricane and lava scare two yrs ago.
Yikes. Hope everyone is ok.

On Friday morning, authorities said the situation in the Puna subdivision continues to get more dire.
And Hawaii County Civil Defense authorities have issued this ominous warning to households that choose not to heed mandatory orders to leave: First responders may not be able to come to the aid of residents who refuse to evacuate.
The five eruptions, the latest of which started just five minutes after the large quake, are threatening several homes and authorities have confirmed that at least two homes have sustained significant damage.
Dramatic images from the subdivision show lava bubbling up from the ground and soaring more than 100 feet in the air. Residents described the sound of the eruptions as haunting hissing and like a freight train.
So far, oofficials have confirmed breakouts on Mohala Street, Kaupili Street, Makamae Street and near Kahukai Street and Leilani Avenue.
