Federal investigators tapped the phone lines of President Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, according to a bombshell report by NBC News.
The report, citing one source with direct knowledge, said at least one call between the White House and a phone line associated with Cohen was intercepted.
The wiretap could dramatically raise the legal stakes for Trump if any potential conversations with his longtime lawyer were swept up by investigators, who are conducting a wide-ranging criminal probe into Cohens business activities.
According to NBC News, it is unclear how long the phone had been wiretapped or when it was authorized, but sources tell the network that it was in place leading up to an FBI raid on Cohen last month.
Trump was infuriated by that raid, accusing the Justice Department of carrying out a witch hunt and an attack on our country while asserting the FBI "broke in" to Cohens home, office, hotel room and safe deposit box.

Avenatti said that evidence likely served as the basis for the warrant prosecutors obtained to search Cohens home office and hotel room.
Theres no question in my mind Michael Cohen will be indicted for serious federal crimes relating likely to the $130,000 payment and other things, he said. And I think this increases the chances of what I said previously. I dont think this president is going to serve out his term.

I'm so sick of the MSM and Muller driven Insanity.
Trump has already said he is going to bring legal action concerning breech of a private contract his attorney arranged with the porn actress.
This is OUTRAGEOUS!! WIRE TAPPING THE PRESIDENTS LAWYER!!
Yep. Trademark of the Deep State mentality.
What are they doing tapping his phone?
Who authorized the tap and who leaked the info?
Watergate was far less worse than this. And this time, it’s not some third-rate break-in, it’s the FBI and NSA tapping the phones of the President of the United States.
Wiretapping the President?
What?
The Hildabeast laundered $84M in illegal money - nothing. And the government is worried about 130k transaction between two private parties that was not even part of the election?
Avenatti will be crawling in a whole soon. The court already turned down 2 of his requests. Stormy might just catch on that he cares sh** about her.
It makes more sense now why Mueller is pushing so hard to depose Trump. Thye have his words on tape, and now they want to see if they can trap him in a “process crime” - lying to the FBI...
Interesting take...and they have all of Cohen’s paperwork, too.
First: liberals do not have to obey the law.
The law is for conservatives and little saps like us (the taxpayers).
Second, I wonder if the tap was to secretly find out Trump’s legal strategy and what he and Cohen knew. What a wonderful advantage to secretly know all your legal opponent knows and how to counter it in court.
Fun for the liberals.
that would be "hole"....not whole...
That guy Avenutti has been talking trash and blowing smoke for weeks.
Mueller obviously used some scurrilous detail from his plundering of Michael Cohen's private Trump files and convinced some Democrat judge to underwrite this quasi-legal wiretap.
The greatest irony in this whole stinking situation is the knowledge that President Trump's very own Department of Justice is taking salacious pleasure in nailing him to the cross.
Some serious push back is required--immediately and with great legal force.
[Wiretapping the President?]
I agree. This is beyond insanity.
These people should be handing from the neck in the Capitol rotunda.
Hanging, obviously.
“Isn’t this the same arrogant ploy used to scam the FISA Court with the Steele memorandum?”
The FISA courts weren’t scammed. The judges knew full farking well that they were issuing warrants to spy on a republican presidential candidate. They were chomping at the bit to do so...
Did I mention ‘our’ judiciary is totally corrupt and loyal to the left?
Did little jeffery sessions sign off on the wiretap request?
