I saw a clip on Fox showing the arrogant Daniels lawyer, Michael Avenatti being interviewed by CNN. He belittled the Trump legal team and said he was going to open up an investigation of money laundering to avoid detection. Here is some excerpts from his rant:
Avenatti said that there would be a violation of campaign finance laws if Trump and Cohen structured the payment in a way to avoid detection or in an effort to make it appear to be something that it was not, namely, a retainer payment as opposed to $130,000 reimbursement, that may involve money laundering depending on how it was handled.
There also may be tax issues relating to the deductibility of those expenses. If they were deducted as legal expenses for tax purposes when in reality it had nothing to do with legal services rendered, but instead was the reimbursement of the $130,000, that too is going to be a problem, he said.
I think the Stormy Daniels case will put herself open to a violation of the non-disclosure agreement which she signed and it is binding. The other efforts will be defamation of Trump which can expose all involved to litigation. Michael Avenatti hang on to your seatand your wallet.
Don’t know if this has been addressed yet but the IRS has yet to issue a statement if the payment to Stormy was taxable income to her and she failed to pay - - if he didn’t deduct it as a business expense(very grey area) she should owe
