I was in Vegas in 2004, and again last year. In 2004, it was sleazy, but nowhere near as bad as it is now. Filthy lowlifes everywhere, and young prostitutes on every corner, many of whom certainly didn't look old enough to be driving, much less selling themselves on the streets of that disgusting town.

I really don't get the allure of Vegas, but then I am not really a gambler or a customer of prostitutes, so maybe that's it.

It is good that you are not going there. You aren’t missed. With an negative, distorting attitude like that you must be a lot of fun to hang with.

When you are walking with your family along the strip and come out of McDonalds to see two naked women (except for two pieces of tape and a very thin thong advertising for some topless show, it is awkward for the family and you. My one visit there to be in place for the Rose Bowl is the last time I will go.

Thirty years ago Vegas was fun. It was clean, you could walk down the strip at any hour and feel safe, and prime rib buffets were $1.99. You could play cards all day on 20$ if you were careful and found a 1$ table. The last time I was in Vegas for a convention I couldn’t believe what it had become. I have zero desire to go back

the Vegas Strip you should do once in your lifetime...

like driving Big Sur...once is enough...

try off the Strip....you can still access good food and gambling plus its much easier coming and going...

we went to a Lenten fish fry on a Friday a couple of years ago in Vegas...the people were lovely and there are some very nice neighborhoods a mile or two off the strip...
