Fewer people are visiting Las Vegas. One insider thinks hotel resort and parking fees are to blame

Daily resort fees and parking charges are rising and spreading in Las Vegas, adding as much as $45 a day to visitors' hotel bills. The publisher of Las Vegas Advisor blames the extra charges for a recent decline in the number of visitors.

"Everyone hates resort fees, but the parking [fee] is even worse," said Anthony Curtis of Las Vegas Advisor. "Everyone wants some kind of comp, [and] the most basic comp is free parking. That was the one comp that everyone got."

The Advisor, a decades-old, monthly newsletter highlighting what's new in Vegas and featuring deals for visitors, provides lists of parking costs and resort fees across southern Nevada.

Yeah, because it couldn't POSSIBLY be due to the biggest mass shooting in U.S. history, still basically unsolved.

It isnt not only Vegas, but here in Laughlin also. We used to go over for the Sunday Brunch as they were really good and reasonable. Now the prices are way out of site.

And I would sooner go to Laughlin than Vegas anytime.

Vegas is fake, always has been. But not that far back you could go to Vegas and have a pretty reasonable time price wise.

Right, "distorting attitude." Because I didn't see it with my own eyes, right?

You don't know me, or how much "fun" I am or am not, but by all means, attack me personally for expressing an opinion with which you disagree. There's room over at DU for you.

Thanks. Somehow, I totally missed that. That guy, McCabe was a Goliath at FBI— all but running the joint.

So, the decline wouldn’t have anything to do with that mass slaughter and coverup, right?

Gaming revenues are up 3.3% 1Q 2018 over last year. Airline passengers up about 2%.

WE paid top dollar to stay at the Mirage over new years. They don’t even have an airport shuttle and when the private contractor didnt show for our trip home, we were out the money we paid to get back to the airport. One visit was enough for me.

When you are walking with your family along the strip and come out of McDonalds to see two naked women (except for two pieces of tape and a very thin thong advertising for some topless show, it is awkward for the family and you. My one visit there to be in place for the Rose Bowl is the last time I will go.

Could be nobody wants to pay the Hollywood entertainment!

Not all the entertainment is Hollywood. Last month my wife and I went to Vegas and saw the Donny & Marie show. Best show in Vegas. See it before they get older and retire.

Last month while walking on the strip in Las Vegas, my wife and I spotted an Indian family talking to two naked women, the latter only having on a tiny thong and pasties on their nipples. They had their two young boys (about 7 to 9 years old) stand between the naked ladies while they snapped pictures. It was quite a visual disconnect for us, as the family was wearing traditional India garb. The two young boys had huge grins on their faces.

Oh, there is stench—sewer around intersection and front area of Bellegio—and hawkers everywhere, much like Times Square. Nearly naked dancers, Marvel characters, Disney characters, etc. All very irritating.

Thirty years ago Vegas was fun. It was clean, you could walk down the strip at any hour and feel safe, and prime rib buffets were $1.99. You could play cards all day on 20$ if you were careful and found a 1$ table. The last time I was in Vegas for a convention I couldn’t believe what it had become. I have zero desire to go back

Or Maybe it is because
no normal American wants to “party”
on the same place where a mass murderer killed
so many victims .

But it was paradise to see all the people walking around with MAGA hats. You don’t see that in California.

Wow. You sure don’t. Cool!
