Doctors in Perth are threatening to stop Australia’s oldest scientist flying to Switzerland to end his life through voluntary euthanasia.
Edith Cowan University honorary research associate David Goodall, 104, does not have a terminal illness but his quality of life has deteriorated.
Euthanasia campaigner Philip Nitschke said Goodall had attempted suicide about two months ago after suffering a fall, ended up in hospital and his daughter had to fight hard to get him out – only succeeding after arranging an independent psychiatric review.

Whether you’re David Goodall or Alfie Evans, the real issue of whether you should live or die should be yours.
Its not contingent on the approval or the consent of other people.
Why doesn't this 104-year-old just let out word that he is about to release incriminating information on Hillary Clinton?
Maybe he wants to go to a country where he can get a gun to off himself.
Perhaps this is an opportunity for him to drink himself to death. Shouldn’t take too long at 104.

I detect an ulterior motive of making these decisions ultimately a part of the state somehow.
The point being why couldn’t Alfie Evans go to Italy to save his life?
When did that get to be the decision of doctors, bureaucrats and judges? Why do they get to have a veto over your freedom?
Whether you’re baby or adult, our loss of that is truly terrifying. We are the ones who know what’s best for us and that other people may feel different, is irrelevant.
If our quality of life isn’t ours, what good is it?

You have the freedom to be stupid, too. We can’t always save people from themselves.
I’m pro-life but I hate moral busybodies taking away our freedom from us for our own good.
Like the state of CT who forced a young woman to undergo painful chemo treatment against her will.
When we lose our freedom through other people’s good intentions, we lose control of the ability to run our lives as we see fit.
The important thing about freedom is either we have it or we don’t have it. It isn’t a complicated issue.

Well, sort of. I suspect that this 104 y.o. wants Australia to change it’s laws to favor euthanasia. There have already been cases in Denmark where otherwise perfectly healthy people have been put to death, whereas the law was “sold” as a means to an end for those with terminal illnesses. The goalposts keep moving in a disturbing way.
A psychiatric eval for a 104 year old? Kind of hard for someone who hasn’t been there to say what ought to be normal or healthy at that age. I doubt that there is much of an historic base of comparison of 100+ year olds previously evaluated and studied to do a relevant analysis.
Doctors, bureaucrats and judges are the marxists “experts” like the global warming experts and news media experts that tell us “dumber” people what to think. I think all these marxists like the global warming marxists, judges ,news media democrats etc . can go jump in the lake.Democrats marxists want a world socialist state that will make Venezuela seem like a paradise by comparison.
Freedom means owning your own property , money and life , what makes you happy is the Pursuit of happiness in our founding Document the Declaration of Independence and Trumps any unconstitutional laws created to empower government bureaucrats like Lois Lerner, Comey , Sessions etc.

Why? Because, in my opinion, Government equals Force. Worldwide, governments control what they allow their citizens to do and not do.
We think we’re special here in the U.S. because we think we give the gov’t permission to govern over us, but in reality, if the People withdrew that permission, they would soon discover otherwise.
The realization that actually, our gov’t treats us as prisoners, is sobering and true, worldwide.
P.S. This only applies to legal citizens. There is another playbook for the illegal invaders.
Suicide is a very sad aspect of human behavior. It can’t be prevented unless you’re restrained inside a jail cell,then you may as well be dead. Abortion is a crime because a person is killed without a say. Once someone is of the age of reasoning a desperate mind is capable of anything. If suicide is contemplated and then followed through on, who can stop it? I just believe that a government should not sanction the act.
