Despite the claims in the propaganda of #RedForEd, teachers are not underpaid and often enjoy benefits that are not available to most workers in the private sector. While we should be fair to teachers, we must be fair to taxpayers and not burden them with additional taxes.

Exactly, give them a raise in exchange for taking away their Cadillac DB pension plan, let them fund a 401k like most others.

The Takeaway: The people who are teaching your children are for the most part hard-line Communists.

Almost every teacher I know is a republican or an independent. Local teachers tend toward conservative values.

I am so glad to see this post, it is all so true. The teachers (NEA) are just asserting themselves as a political power prior to the midterms.

In Arizona they have it all ass backwards. They forced the lowest income families to either forgo work for the strike days or to pay for daycare.

There was a visual not to be forgotten in Yuma yesterday. About eight redshirted teachers were sitting on the patio of a local muffin shop sipping lattes while the busy working public drove by at a major intersection. These "educators" are idiots and they have control of your kids.

“They say they want higher salaries and education funding and the tax increases necessary to pay for them.”

I promise you, they want more money. I know plenty of teachers and most are conservative.

It is the education departments in all 50 states that are occupied exclusively by Leftists, and are always sticking their teeth into the necks of teachers.

Conservative teachers are being bullied and intimidated to follow along.

About making unions stronger?
