Texas Couple Enslaved African Girl for 16 Years, Say Feds

Federal authorities charged a North Texas couple with the forced labor of a West African girl, alleging they enslaved her in their home for more than 16 years. The accused, Mohamed Toure, 57, and wife Denise Cros-Toure, 57, appeared in federal court Thursday. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) alleged in a complaint that Toures and others arranged for the victim, who did not speak English, to travel alone from her village in the West African Republic of Guinea to the Torres’ home Southlake, Texas, in January 2000, to work for the defendants in their home. The court documents indicated the victim’s Guinean passport showed she was five-years-old at the time. The defendants purportedly forced the victim to toil in their home for long hours without pay.

For the next 16 years, the defendants required the girl to “cook, clean, do the laundry, perform yard work, and paint, as well as care for their five children,” according to the affidavit, which also asserted that, even though the victim was close in age to the some of the Toure children, the girl was “denied her access to schooling and the other opportunities afforded to their children.”

The DOJ accused the defendants of taking away the victim’s documents, causing her to remain unlawfully in the U.S. after her visa expired. They said the Toures isolated the girl from her family and others, and abused her emotionally and physically. The affidavit portrayed the abuse as “slapping led to the use of a belt, which then led to the use of an electrical cord to strike her,” according to KDFW.

It’s a Muslim thing, even today, to enslave Africans. Don’t know if the Saudis still do, but they did not so long ago.

You won’t hear anything from BLM. They make common cause with Muslims and hate Israel. Just more evidence of their hypocrisy. Of the Left’s in general.

That couple needs to stop relying on its pre-1865 copy of the Constitution. Interesting how the couple was described as being “Texas” rather than “Muslim.”

They are from Guinea, Africa.

Mohamed Toure is the son of Guinea’s first President, Ahmed Sekou Toure.

Son Of Guinea's First President Charged With Forced Labor In Texas

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/26/politics/guinea-president-labor/index.html

A Texas couple with deep political connections in the West African country of Guinea was charged Thursday with forced labor after a young woman they allegedly enslaved for more than 16 years managed to escape their home in Southlake with help from neighbors.

Mohamed Toure and Denise Cros-Toure, both 57, allegedly brought the victim from Guinea to Texas in 2000, when she was just 5 years old. She has not been named.

They allegedly then forced the girl to do housework and care for their children, subjecting her to emotional and physical abuse, the Department of Justice said in a press release.

Watch for the State Department to step in and try to save him from prosecution.

An average housewife has chosen that as a profession.

They didn’t get kidnapped at five and have to do it. They aren’t foreign nationals who have had their papers stolen. They are not held captive in their homes. They are not mentally and physically abused as a rule, and if they are they can leave and file for divorce, and custody of their children.

You’re not doing this child or caring moms any favors by equating the two.

It’s downright insulting to both. It makes a lark out of what happened to this child. It denigrates women to compare something they do willingly, through dedication, love, and by choice to a child like this.

They don’t think of it that way. They love their children, their husband and want to create the best possible home for the family unit, BY CHOICE.

"Don’t know if the Saudis still do, but they did not so long ago."

You better damn well believe the Saudis still trade slaves. It's a matter of prestige for them to own at least one.

Boston Legal did an episode on this topic years ago (of course, it also involved the house slave murdering the husband because he raped and impregnated her - got to spice it up for TV of course).
