So all the other golfers are supposed to wait hours for the buffalo foursome to waddle off the course?
>>Why do black people not have to abide by the same rules everyone else does?<<
Because, reparations.
Many years ago, I went to play golf by myself. I didn’t want anyone else. It was just a day to relax. Low humidity, temp about 76 or so, sunshine and just a slight breeze. I knew I was playing slow so when a group came up behind me, I’d wait at the next tee and let them go. If a group came up behind them, I let them go. I only tee’d off when there was no group behind me for 2 holes. It took me about 5 hours but it was the most relaxing time I’d had in a long time.
They don’t do anything fast, and they do everything loud.
What club allows a five some?
Doesn't matter. What pisses me off is that the reporter didn't bother to get all the facts, probably because she doesn't understand the etiquette of the game and/or has an agenda. Also, the owners could have (did?) explain that other people have been asked to speed up play or leave, and most choose to speed up. These people decided to make an issue of it. Either way, MSM dupes like Rachael don't bother to get the important facts (e.g., how long were they taking) and report that side of the issue. This is journalism?
In college I used to love to go to the practice range late in the day on a Saturday. Sometimes it was just me there. Very tranquil setting while slicing several hundred balls.
I agree, a fivesome is stupid. However, wanna bet the guy tried to say something about that and got the race card thrown in his face and caved rather than stand by the course’s rules.
My dad used to tell me I’d have been a helluva golfer if I had any idea where the ball was going after I hit it. With a driver, the ball usually went about 25 yards and made a hard left turn. I did better with a 3 wood off the tee just laying the ball on the ground. A tee always gave me problems.
Or just rudeness and unfamiliarity with golfing manners.
If you or your group are slower than others, you are supposed to stand aside when another group, who is faster than you, catches up to you and would finish your hole faster than you.
It’s called letting others play through.
Why did they allow a fivesome on the course? This is almost never done. Because it slows play so much!
The reason I could never play professional golf is that I’d freak out if I saw the gallery and I’d be so scared of hitting somebody with one of my drives.
Today it is racist to expect them to follow any rules. You raciss! /s
Back in the day, I could hit the ball a ton. I did better off the fairway but my drives. Holy cow.
I’m guessing the 12-year olds weren’t the greatest of players, so they take more shots and more time, holding up the group behind them. Yes - the group behind could have asked to play through. Or - they were okay with the pace and didn’t want to embarass the kids?
Me and a buddy used to go golf perhaps 2 or 3 times a year way back when. The course we went to was never crowded, but we knew we were slow and let the rare group behind us play through. If I ever went to play again - I’d probably have more fun watching a 12-year old play ahead of me!
I once went golfing with another friend and his buddies that were pretty good. I would sort of run ahead of them so I could hit my ball a second time to get mine up near theirs without holding everybody up! Ones that went into the woods or grass - I just dropped a new ball where it went out and played from there. Not the rules of golf - but for the sake of time it made sense.
They figure it’s part, mind you, of reparations.
Since I “retired”, I have on several occasions met for business reasons at casual restaurants, comparable to Starbucks or Subway, but usually local non-chain shops. While I will occasionally set my stuff at a table before buying food or a drink, I never sit until I am a paying customer - basic etiquette and respect for private property.
When I stay for an unusually long time or notice after being there a while that the place is full with no open tables, I follow my typical small order with a big food order, most recently one of each of their twelve meal items, to go, to be ready at their closing time. If I respect the owner/manager, I will never make him lose money because of me. If I don’t respect him, I will never set foot in his establishment. Either way, it is immoral to make a cafe, which almost by definition has a thin profit margin, lose money. Golf clubs are better off, but the same ethical rules apply. The parasites who create these hoax #FakeNews stories disgust me. I cannot tell whether this was shocking rudeness or a set up, but the aftermath is certainly all fake.
Black privilege.
These businesses are in a bind; if trash shows up (of any color), worthy people have no interest in showing up. Once a place “falls”, there is no going back.
