Dems fear GOP wins in California because of state's primary system, Hoyer says: report
Fox News ^ | 04/28/2018 | Benjamin Brown

California’s “jungle” primary system has Democrats worried that Republicans could win some of the Golden State’s congressional seats in midterm elections, a top House Democrat said Friday.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., speaking to USA Today, said Democrats have a shot at winning in more than 50 congressional districts nationwide — enough to take control of the House from the GOP. Democrats need to win 24 seats to flip the House, according to the New York Times, while maintaining the 194 seats they currently hold.

But California’s primary system, in which the top two vote-getters face off in the general election, regardless of party, has Democratic leaders concerned, Hoyer said.

Because of the state’s system, if multiple Democrats run in a primary, the party’s votes could be so split up that two Republicans could finish first and second and face off in the general election, the Los Angeles Times reported. …

What’s the matter Steny? Are you afraid ordinary Democrat voters might vote for a Republican instead?

The jungle primary system seems to yield more cases in which two Democrats move on to the general election, rather than two Republicans.

In 2016, two Democrats were the finalists for the US Senate seat vacated by Barbara Boxer.

If Democrats worry about this, in a strong Democrat state such as California, what is the internal polling telling them about these mid term elections???

Well it certainly made no difference in the national election.. no wall, multiple chuck n Nancy deals funding every liberal program, 2A infringement and a sitting prez making remarks about taking guns by circumventing due process and mobocracy because he is fine with a popular vote.
Why vote republican? They just banned The Bible in CA.. make no mistake all of this is by design.

A prominent democrat, and all her millions, had “a shot” at winning the presidency in ‘17...but she missed.

Hoyer is an asshole...always has been.

Better change the rules if “the others” might win.

California’s “jungle” primary system...

Shouldn't it be called the "rain forest system?"

As if! No, most of the time it is two Dems facing off against each other.

Ha, ha - it’s a primary system the Dims built - more a first round general election than a primary - with the intention (that has been working so far) of defeating GOP candidates in the so-called primary, in a way that eliminates them from entering the general election. (Only the top two out of the “primary” go to the general election, regardless of their party affiliation, whether same party or not).

This should raise red flag to gop. Whatever democrats believe hinder their power, they would find a way to rig it. I won’t be surprised democrats in ca will do the “reform”

There was a study out of UCLA from 1998(?) that said media bias gave the LEFT a 10 point advantage.

The key is to make BIG MEDIA more competitive. To make it more competitive, the first step is to stop paying the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL. The beast has to be starved.

If you have cable tv, you are feeding the beast. Part of your check goes to the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL. CNN gets half of its revenue from cable subscriber fees.

Cut your cable tv and force the cable companies to go a la carte. No more basic bundle.

We have the power, we just have to be willing to use it.

To disrupt the system, we must disrupt our lives.

Just like the Leftists/Democrats rigged the last senatorial election ... ended up with two far Left candidates to replace the mentally-challenged Boxer ... ended up with Kamala Harris ... a mulatto version of Pelosi.

It would be a joyous time to watch the far Leftists on the coast having to decide between two Republicans, but that won't happen. Be assured the Socialist Democrat Party will reconfigure the election process scam to make sure that doesn't happen ... and there's no way to stop it ... unless of course we appeal to the Ninth Circus ... oh ... yeah ... like that'll work!

Let’s see: Arnold runs as a Republican and the gay Silicon Valley runs as an Independent. Rats eat each other over Fienstein. WE finish 1-2. The billionaire blows the election. The question is: Any big name out there better than Arnold?

Anything that even allows a Republican onto the ballot is a threat to Democrats.

Bruce Willis or Kelsey Grammer......but neither is interested in being destroyed by the Left, just for an R Senate seat.
