This will be a weekly post.
Count is now at 33.
Kyle Duncan was confirmed to the 5th circuit, that makes 15 Appeals Court judges confirmed thus far.
Also, the Rules committee voted to alter the cloture rules this week, which, if approved by the full Senate, will speed up confirmations.
The Senate was dealing with the Secretary of state and ambassador to Germany nominations.
Supposedly, McConnell plans a string of judicial confirmations next week. We'll see.
Did the Senate approve the homosexual ambassador to Germany?
McConnell needs to speed up the process in case we lose the senate.
Yes the ambassador to Germany. Which I did not see any topics concerning him and the delay.
I knew little about him before I read this today
.http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/01/conservative-richard-grenells-ambassadorship-delayed-senate-call-mitch-mcconnell-tell-hold-vote-202-224-2541/
Yes, McConnel needs to fix this waste of days for each nomination.
Grenell’s nomination has already passed through the Senate Foreign Relations committee but with Democrats objecting to a vote, McConnell has not yet taken the time consuming procedural steps to overcome their filibuster.
The problem for McConnell is that it can eat up multiple days of precious floor time to break a filibuster if opponents choose to drag out the process. McConnell has made it his priority to break filibusters on top Cabinet and sub-Cabinet posts as well as appeals and district court judges, whose work can last decades not just until the end of the president’s term.
Cotton, thanks for these updates.
FREEPERS, all who read these updates on the slow walk judge confirmations should write, email or call your senators that are Republicans and tell them to pressure McConnell to speed up the judge conformations NOW. With the 2018 elections coming, the Senate won’t do much of anything after mid-September so get good conservative judges through NOW.
That brings the grand total of judges confirmed this month to four and the grand total over two months to eight. Not good enough.
