Yep these people should take people in.
Looked at that way, there should be no homeless problem. Enough people have enough spare bedrooms, or other space within existing homes and apartments, to find a place for every homeless individual.

Yes, is not that easy. I was in SF today visiting my brother-in-law. Parking is near impossible in his neighborhood, people have cars parked on the sidewalk as well as at the curb and in driveways. Why?
He tells me that many people have rented out their garages and spare rooms to other people. Multiple families in single family residences. So there are many cars for each residence, and no garage space for enclosing a car within. He's the exception, garaging his only car and not allowing anyone else to share his home. Many people on his block keep their garbage receptacles outside on the sidewalk due to no space in their garage; he mentioned someone stole his neighbors garbage receptacles last week, probably a homeless person. By the way, he's a conservative and dislikes liberals but is a native San Franciscan.
