I was never in the military, but can remember the first time I heard the expression "Perfumed Princes" (by Colonel David Hackworth, a.k.a. Hack.)

As a civilian, I knew immediately just who & what he meant. I loved & miss that guy. R.I.P. Hack.

Yeah he was my favorite soldier when I was in.

They are called that in case you did not know because they wear colone which during Nam was anathema since the NVA could smell the colone no matter how faint. Princes because that’s how they act - spoiled princes.

Prancing is another appellation sometimes attached as in Prancing Perfumed Princes, swaggering done the corridors of the Pentagon and elsewhere - made me sick to see them.
