Syria and Iran are both among the short list of the most ancient civilizations on earth. Syria and Iran are independent nations threatened by expansionism from Saudi Arabia and Israel. If Israel has nukes you can't blame other ME nations for being eager to be able to defend themselves. We have no right to be in Syria. Our moral obligation to destroy ISIS has been met. Iraq should've been split into three nations, along ethnic lines.
Has Israel done anything to defeat ISIS? Has Saudi Arabia? Seems we're not on God's side in this one. We should be with the nations and leaders that protect Christians and other minorities. We should respect sovereign nations and ancient cultures.
You are far more historically informed than I but I simply could not agree more with your analyses and opinion. The policy of our government is to stereotype Iran and Syria as terrorist and they simply are not. I did not like the hostage taking in our embassy 40 years ago but after that I see no evidence of terrorism or invasion what so ever in Iran. Certainly not in Syria. You are well informed on Sunni Wahhabi terrorism so I wont reiterate.
