Married 48 years - as we aged it was decide we really did not need to buy each other a gift. A card was enough.
The fact is either one of us can and do buy things we want.
My birthday was yesterday. Not even a card.
Same here...49 years. Anything we want we go and buy. Its usually a nice dinner at a special restaurant.
I know several couples who visit the card aisle of the supermarket together. They each select a card for the other, they read the cards, and put them back on the rack and go about their business. This works for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, Sweetest Day, you name it.
Saves paper. ;-)
I don’t need anything and don’t want anything. Flowers die. Candy goes to my hips. Don’t waste the money. If Mr. b wants to do something, he can do a household chore for me. That would be the most appreciated gift.
