President Trump admitted in a phone interview by Fox & Friends on Thursday his wife Melanias birthday that he didnt have time to get her a gift.
When asked what he got the first lady for her 48th birthday, the commander-in-chief responded: I better not get into that cause I may get in trouble.
Maybe I didnt get her so much, Trump said, before stumbling over his words, saying: I tell you what she has done
I got her a very beautiful card. You know, Im very busy to be running around looking for presents, OK?

>>Probably should have had one of his many attorneys do it for him.

Or maybe Ivanka ~ bet she would have picked something really beautiful!
Geese...trust me he got he something FABULOUS!!
Ivanka probably could.
I imagine private, uninterrupted time together would be the best gift of all.
You hit the nail on the head. Wives are happier buying their own things. Help them by taking them shopping, let them pick out their own stuff, and if it needs installing then do it for them. And do it throughout the year, not just a birthday. Right now I'm installing some decorative wall cubes on a wall for my wife that she bought yesterday. She asked "Are you going to help me put them up?", which means I will do all the work. Happily, since I don't have to pick out things for her. Almost fifty years together and this works for us, picking out our own things to buy.
LOVE IT!!!
Happy Birthday Melania, our beautiful and elegant FLOTUS!
Happy Birthday Berlin Freeper!
What cake(s) are arriving?!!
Made me think that I have some amazing carrot cake that needs sampling in the fridge so gotta run!
Happy birthday!
Oh please. Who needs that grief in a relationship? Hubby hasn't been responsible for buying me gifts in years. But then, we're at an age where we really don't need more "stuff." He does pick out very nice cards. And this year, he surprised me by adding a few balloons. I fail to see the rationale behind the game couples play with gift-giving where it is somehow is supposed to be some visible manifestation of the other's love and devotion, and if the other doesn't prove to be a mind-reader, it equates to a lack of love. Who needs that?
President Trump may have bought her an emerald jewelry mined at the Malysheva field, known for its rare deep color, which was once closed because of Russian national security. It is now open and the emeralds are now available and are highly desired world wide. If Trump gave her one of these, it would be a tribute to her because emeralds a symbol of eternity, renewal, love, and power. However, because it came from Russia, of course Trump would keep it a secret. Mueller would have his FBI aces do a warrantless search and snatch it as evidence of Russian collusion.
I’m guessing the dress she wore for the dinner cost more than most people’s homes... that should count for something...
Amen to that...
I doubt seriously shes not lacking for anything.
Same here...49 years. Anything we want we go and buy. Its usually a nice dinner at a special restaurant.
Same here...48 years. We haven’t exchanged birthday gifts in years. We buy things for each other throughout the year when we see things the other might like. I’d rather celebrate for going out to dinner or making a special dinner at home.
ROFLOL!!
Hubby and I quit that birthday gift stuff and Christmas gifts many many years ago. Theres nothing he wants that he cant buy and he doesnt have a clue about me other than gift certs so why bother? We usually do a card and a nice dinner.
My post #77. We are the same. I thought I was unusual for a woman. Lol
We dont do gifts for anything. Even Valentines Day and anniversaries we just do a card and a nice dinner. Half the time we cook them ourselves, comfy in our home
Now, birthday gifts for the grandkids are a whole different story! I tend to go overboard. Christmas is worse.
Yes! NEVER forget that one!
