Bavaria is the last holdout in 19th century's German unification under Prussia as far as I know. It seems to have a historical pride and is strong enough to go on its own. From what I hear, it is conservative compared with other regions of Germany. I am sure there are Freepers who have first-hand experience and can fill in many details.

Great move but too little, too late? The Muslim Hoard Trojan Horse is already in place...

Munich is turning into somewhat of a cesspit. Lived there for two years in the mid/late ‘90s. Great, no issues.
Now visit maybe once or twice a year for business. Half of Africa and Arabia and most of the Balkans seem to have settled there. The sense of relaxed safety is simply gone.
Of course Munich has been run by the left (SPD) for decades. They are very proud of their multi-culturalism (München ist bunt!).
The small town/rural parts of Bavaria are still OK. Merkel is working hard to change that.
