Yup. I grew up in the Hudson Valley and escaped in 2013, sadly my Mom and Brothers and Sons are still there. I’ve been trying to get them to move out for years, but when your family has been there since 1760, it’s a tough sell.

In New York, the Dem was not only allowed to also run on Conservative party line, but he was backed by the man who ran for Governor on the Republican party line.

From the end of the article: "He {the Democrat winner} probably also benefited from strong backing from developer Carl Paladino, an icon in South Buffalo and a member of another group of intertwined political families. Bohen certainly benefited from the ballot Conservative line."

A totally screwed up state!

I grew up in a solidly Republican Nassau County (Long Island).

Long Island has changed, a lot, since I left - and not for the better.

I’m surprised there are ANY GOP seats left, anywhere on the Island, which is overrun with invaders and SJWs.

Trump was not elected by Republicans, he was elected by Democrats in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

This "blue-dog on the surface" strategy could help the dems win control again. Repubs are laying down like dogs and taking the Dewey approach to campaigning expecting "the people" to see through moderates, lol.

I find this next election cycle interesting since it will feature 40+ ex-intelligence agents (For Democrat Party) running on a moderate platform. Most of these creatures are from the CIA. Repubs are wise to double-down on intelligence incompetence and NSA intrusions, whoops, a lot of that came from a Republican Congress and the Bush Admin. Fun times ahead.

They aren’t doing anything to keep those crossover votes that Trump brought in. In fact, it seems they are actively trying to destroy his coalition with the Republicans trying to govern as establishment Republicans. For a long time in Trump’s Presidency, many were openly fighting him and criticizing him. That got somewhat better, and they got the tax reform through, but that’s it. They haven’t tried to work on the key issues important to the Trump voter coalition. Health care was boggled. Their bill was a dud in terms of popularity, and in order to take account of the elderly voters and independent voters, they needed to find a way to insure people who couldn’t afford it and lower costs and promote private insurance for the rest. There was no infrastructure package. Trump ran on immigration reform. What happened with that? Couldn’t even get them to vote for the wall and that was his signature issue. The omnibus was also bad. I get why people aren’t enthused on our side to some extent, but the Democrats seek impeachment, 2nd Amendment restrictions, open borders, higher taxes, more censorship, etc. Republicans need to emphasize these things and run on it. Trump had a great coalition, but they need to hold on to it.

Sorry, post had to do with Fed Congress, however, Repub gains in the State Houses can easily be lost as well.

How many seats have we flipped, though, nationwide since 2016? I don’t know the numbers on it, but they are certainly flipping more than we are

You won't find the answer to that reading Vox or other leftist media. The leftists are creating a blue wave narrative. Best to just ignore it.

Article in VOX -— Therefore BS!

What exactly is BS about it? Did the Republicans, in fact, win the New York seat? Are the Democrats not winning the majority of these special elections for Congress and state legislatures? Please be specific.

The new Tax Laws are creating a massive tidal wave of Northerners invaders flooding into the more conservative South .

Only the left wing nuts , very rich , and there plantation voters will be left .

Dems have gained/flipped 39 seats since 2016; more if you count municipal races. Par for the course though, since that “Party of the President loses seats in mid-term” meme.

It would be unwise to ignore them picking up 40 seats. Look at the results of the Lamb and Lesko elections (red districts). Every area vote shift was blue. We saw what happened to Obama in 2010 because we were a part of it. The left wants the same thing, and if we don’t read the signs, they could get it.

Republicans don’t inspire; they don’t fight and they don’t keep their promises.

If they simply protected our inalienable rights like a junkyard dog, that alone would turn things around.

Hint, hint...

“Democrats are cleaning up in special elections “

Never underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate and the power of voter fraud.

Impeach him on what? That’s the problem with all this impeachment BS. There is no “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors”.

and if we don’t read the signs

Here are the "signs": the leftist media is going all out to F Trump. They used to pretend to not do stuff like that, but they decided to drop the pretense this time, and probably from now on. The media is the enemy. They need to die, figuratively. Reading their BS and believing it is the wrong thing to do. The way to kill them off is to first stop reading it.

They don't need a reason; they will make up a long litany of alleged crimes, but this is a political decision. They will impeach him for being Trump and the media will scream it 24/7 while the government is paralyzed. I wouldn't count on the GOPe Senate and Mitch McConnell to stand tall either. We need to hold the House to stop this before it gets going.
