So we need to send some enzymes to the plastic patch in the Pacific then? Still waiting for the pictures of it from the ISS. Or does the ISS NOT pass over it ever. Someplace I saw that it’s bigger than Texas so it’d be hard to miss right?

Is it bigger than Texas, sure, if you believe the environmentalists. Who knows.

But, far from an enormous floating pile of trash, it's more like the equivalent of a plastic bottlecap per acre.

Trash, to be sure, but nothing like environmentalists would have you believe.

And, because it's a slow morning....

If you go by what I've seen/read - roughly a bottlecap per acre. And, you assume that bottlecap is roughly a cubic inch in size. And that the trash patch is the size of Texas, which is roughly 172 million acres....

All the plastic in the "Great trash patch" would fit in a little over 300 dump trucks. That's a pretty small pile of trash, in something the size of Texas.
