Allergy Sufferers Beware Global Warming
KRCC - Southern Colorado's NPR Station ^ | April 18, 2018 | By ALI BUDNER

If you’re sneezing a bit more this year, well you’re in good company. At least 50 million Americans suffer from allergies every year. But that number is climbing, and it may be related to climate change.

Kara Crosby is an allergist with Colorado Allergy and Asthma Centers. She says she’s seen the change in her practice.

“We have more patients coming every year,” she says, “and a lot of times their symptoms are worse.”

Many of those patients are triggered by plant pollen. And global warming may be increasing the amount of time that pollen stays in the air.

Lewis Ziska, a plant physiologist with the USDA, says we’re seeing earlier springs and later falls. And that’s only part of the equation.

Ziska’s research has found that plants are also responding to climate change by pumping out a larger volume of pollen. He looked at the infamous allergenic plant, ragweed.

“What we found,” he says, “was that in an urban area the average ragweed plant because of the higher CO2 levels and the warmer temperatures, was producing about 10 times as much pollen as the average plant growing in the country.”

He says if CO2 emissions continue to rise our allergy problems may only get worse.

I’ve had spring allergies for years (40) but this spring is the first I’ve lived in the country. Air is so much cleaner. Allergies better. Almost non-existent.

“May be”, “might”, “could be”. This is what passes for science today.

Global Warming?! Heck, that’s two iterations ago. We are now past “climate change” and onto “climate restoration”.

The way to end these bogus studies and articles is to ban the verb, “may” from the English language.

Yeah, your image is fitting. Total BS, of course.

But it’s worse than that: I cured my seasonal allergies after 30 years of suffering.

Here’s the worst part of it: Nobody cares.

Enjoy your suffering, folks. Pardon the asinine comment, but until I publish that’s where I stand, extremely-dubious that people give a damn about their health and prefer to prostrate themselves before their ignorant doctor. I speak to people all the time about allergies yet ALL to-date prefer to suckle their doctor’s teat or the pill bottle.

It’s rather pathetic.

Yes! Newspeak, that's the ticket!

"It's a beautiful thing, the Destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. It isn't only the synonyms; there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word, which is simply the opposite of some other word? A word contains its opposite in itself. Take ‘good,’ for instance. If you have a word like ‘good,’ what need is there for a word like ‘bad’? ‘Ungood’ will do just as well – better, because it's an exact opposite, which the other is not. Or again, if you want a stronger version of ‘good,’ what sense is there in having a whole string of vague useless words like ‘excellent’ and ‘splendid’ and all the rest of them? ‘Plusgood’ covers the meaning or ‘doubleplusgood’ if you want something stronger still. Of course we use those forms already, but in the final version of Newspeak there'll be nothing else. In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words – in reality, only one word. Don't you see the beauty of that, Winston? It was B.B.'s idea originally, of course," he added as an afterthought.

Do elaborate. I take it due to the rest of your post, this was done without modern medical trial and error.

I thought that Global Warming was going to kill us. So if we’re dead, we don’t need to worry about ragweed pollen.

Notice how everything that “may” happen due to global warming is bad. One should think that such a great, climactic event would have both good and bad consequences, but noooo…

This is pure unadulterated BS. It’s the end of April and we’re freezing with snow and ice. Anyone who buys into this craziness is crazy.

Scientists call past periods of warming optimums for a reason.

Seems these people still haven’t got the word about what CO2 is,or learned about it in school. They are also pretty clueless about how spending more for energy is going to affect a supposed problem we have no control over anyway.
