True but more generally, every person needs a gun. I'm more than okay with a pocket .22LR revolver. I'm more than okay with the even smaller Kel-Tek P3AT, which is the size and weight of a cell phone. There would be few thugs, criminals, terrorists, or school shooters if the consequence of trying was an immediate end to the thug's criminal career. I suspect even school shooters who plan on dying are counting on many minutes where they feel powerful, rather than a few seconds of that dubious pleasure.
