Exclusive — Dershowitz: ‘Sessions Should Un-Recuse Himself’
Breitbart ^ | 4-17-2018 | Breitbart

Posted on 04/17/2018 8:40:15 AM PDT by blam

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Breitbart News Tonight on Monday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions should withdraw his recusal from the Department of Justice’s investigation into Trump associates — at least as far as it considers President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen. Dershowitz offered his remarks during a Monday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.

Dershowitz said, “Sometimes you should un-recuse yourself, and I think Attorney General Sessions should un-recuse himself when it comes to the New York investigation because it’s not part of the Russia investigation. He’s not a witness or a potential subject there. He’s the attorney general of the United States. He ought to be in charge of supervising the New York investigation, not Rosenstein.”

Pollak asked Dershowitz if such an un-recusal from Sessions would lead to a pursuit of obstruction of justice charges against President Donald Trump.

Dershowitz replied, “[Jeff Sessions] wouldn’t try to stop [the New York investigation]. He’d play the same role, presumably, that [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein is playing. He’d be one to sign off on the search warrant. He’d be the one to be supervising the U.S. attorney as the Attorney General of the United States always does. It’s just that he would replace Rosenstein. Rosenstein isn’t stopping the investigation. Presumably neither would [Sessions], but he’d be the one in charge. There’s no reason why he should be recused from the New York investigation, unless the New York investigation is really just an extension of Mueller’s investigation, in which case that raises other problems.”

Pollak then described Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s supervision of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s operation as unusual given his dual role as both a supervisor and potential witness.

Too late. This will already be in a New York Court. Separate from the Mueller investigation. Thank you Sessions.

Is Sessions waiting for the midterm elections to finish before he crawls out from under his desk and DOES SOMETHING to hold all these criminals ACCOUNTABLE for their crimes? We are in a LAW CRISIS that needs fixing FAST.

Why was it handed to Rosenstein instead of Sessions in the first place since it had nothing to do with Russia?

So what what would be the purpose of this at this point?

Sessions is waaaaay too late to fire anyone. Well, he could fire himself. But that too would do no good. It might actually do harm, because Sessions is a human monkey wrench, at best. As is, he’s this old guy we got stuffed into the corner.

It is Dershowitz who is getting a little bit batty here, his leftist genes are clawing him back into remission from his brief excursion into equanimity. He cannot help it. He’s been disinvited from too many cocktail parties; or, he is doing the Ann Coulter thing where he’s being controversial just to be controversial so he can make more TV appearances. He’s thinking to himself “holy crap, if a full on goofball like James Comey can publish a book that outsells mine 4:1, then I better get on the stick and spew out some nonsense for public consumption”. He has to rely upon his reputation for the TV invitations but he’s realizing he can be a lot goofier.

I’ll guarantee you Jeff Toobin outearns him 10:1.

First he claims Hannity should have disclosed his “relationship” with Cohen. That is media advice, not legal advice.

Now this. Dersh is retiring from law and going into circus work.

“Sessions should resign himself.”

Sessions should hang himself.

I wonder if Sessions isn’t rooting for Mueller charges/Trump impeachment at this stage, honestly. It appears he’s friendly with Rosenstein, who approved the Cohen raid. I saw a pic of them dining out together not too long ago.

Sessions has to think that as soon as Trump is acquitted of any/all wrongdoing, he’ll be immediately fired (and deservedly so). His only chance of holding onto his job is if Trump is impeached.

“Too late. This will already be in a New York Court.”

And who supervises the NY prosecutors?

America held hostage:

Jeff “Senior Executive Service” Sessions has been AG for 1 year, 2 months, 8 days.

?Sessions should un-recuse himself for what ? So he can be more upfront about being a deep-state enabler? Such an idea is void of common sense and any logic.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Jeff Sessions is actually the worst kind of Swamp Weasel.

He deliberately glommed-on to the Trump campaign as his only Senate supporter, specifically so he COULD get a job like this and use it to undermine Trump later on.

Sure as hell looks that way anyhow.
