Feds: Michael Cohen is barely even a lawyer
NY Post ^ | 4/13/2019 | Ruth Brown

Posted on 04/14/2018 2:14:27 AM PDT by T-Bird45

Michael Cohen is a fraud of a lawyer who works exclusively for President Trump, federal prosecutors charged Friday. “Cohen has told at least one witness that he has only [one] client — President Trump,” the lawyers wrote in court documents, challenging Cohen’s claims that records seized in raids on his home and office Monday should be protected by attorney-client privilege. And he’s barely doing any “legal work” for Trump, either, they claim. “[Reviews of the records] indicate that Cohen is in fact performing little to no legal work, and that zero e-mails were exchanged with President Trump,” according to the brief, filed in Manhattan federal court.

It looks as if Mike Cohen was in Italy during July 2016. I have never flown from Rome to Prague. But I have flown from Prague to Rome, and my passport was not stamped either when I left Czechia or when I arrived in Rome.

So it seems to me that his passport neither proves nor disproves anything about a Prague trip.

The Playboy Bunny Love Judge - is it relative? Is anything
relative anymore?

“U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood, dubbed by tabloids as the “Love Judge” for her alleged affair with a married millionaire, has filed for divorce on grounds her husband withheld sex from her for at least a year.”
https://www.deseretnews.com/article/490982/LOVE-JUDGE-SEEKS-DIVORCE-FROM-HUSBAND.html

“in the mid-1960s, a then cash-strapped Wood trained five days to be a bunny at a London Playboy Club while studying at LSE. As brief as it was, her stint at the club became a point of discussion after President Bill Clinton nominated Wood as his Attorney General in 1993. But it was her employment of an illegal immigrant that ultimately derailed her nomination for the Justice Department post.”

So he’s in-house counsel. I’ve worked for some of those. Since when does that negate attorney-client privilege?

Didn’t they leak info about some bigwig GOP donor that he worked for and negotiated hush money to a pregnant Playboy bunny or some such??? So there’s at least one more client who had their attorney-client privileged compromised!!!

So if a lawyer works for a corporation, or for that matter the government, does that also make them “barely lawyers,” since THEY only have one client, their employer.

Given that when she did so it was legal, and that unlike Baird she paid taxes for her employee, that was weatherable and didn’t collapse her nomination. What caused her nomination to fail was the Clintons leaking out rumors of table-dancing and such once it became clear she wasn’t a radical, then withdrawing the nomination under cover of the smears.

Interesting story, even more interesting timing. I have been assured by an attorney friend that raiding any attorney's office is a huge red flag no matter what their political alignment is or their client list reads. That's what "barely a lawyer" is supposed to excuse, although it's awfully weak sauce and I don't see anyone dipping into it.

Clearly Mueller was trying to provoke Trump into firing him with this activity, which is the reason he was immediately and publicly linked with it. The hazard in that is offending more people than Trump, which appears to be the case here. The media is selling this load of tripe but nobody is buying.

How is it relevant to anything whether or not he has other clients?

A doctor who works for a hospital is "barely a doctor"?

So you only have client-attorney privilege if the state says you’re an attorney.
Then they can deny that anyone is an attorney or a client, destroying said client-attorney privilege.

Did he graduate from law school? Did he pass the bar? Does he have a license to practice law in New York? Then he isn't a "fraud"! It's nobody's business to whom or for what purpose Cohen earns his living as a lawyer. They had no business raiding his offices and home to sift for incriminating evidence on Trump or anyone else. Hilliary's attorneys didn't experience the same treatment and Justice had actual CRIMINAL charges to investigate.
