Would anyone have greater need for US to stay in Syria than Saudi Arabia?
You do understand. People don’t. Syria has an Alawite leader. The Alawites are a moderate Shiite denomination. Syria is predominately Shiite. Sunnis hate Shiites because that dont agree on the heir of Mohamed. This is mutual hatred that drives murder and market bombings every day. Thousand die every year in fights between shiites and sunnis. Get this. The Syrians under Assad’s father sent 4000 troops who fought and died standing with us, in the first gulf war because of the Iraqi ( which he saw as sunni) invaded Kuwait with a huge Shiite population. Saudi fighting Syria is simple religious warfare. It has nothing to do with Saudi “moderation” .
