Report: Kaepernick's Seahawks Workout Postponed After Declining To Stop Kneeling
Sports Illustrated ^ | 4/12/18 | Chris Chavez

Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick was set to workout for the Seattle Seahawks this week but the trip was postponed after he declined to stop kneeling during the national anthem next season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

On NFL Live, Schefter said there is a possibility that the workout could be canceled. In May 2017, Kaepernick met with the Seahawks.

The team has an opening for Russell Wilson's back-up quarterback.

Kaepernick has remained a free agent since opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in March 2017. He did not play for any team during the 2017-18 season. Kaepernick started protesting during the national anthem by taking a knee before games in the 2016 season. Kaepernick's protest is to raise awareness about the racial and societal injustices in America.

In other words, a backup QB is not worth the hassle Kaepernick would bring.

Good. And even if he said he wouldn’t kneel, I’d put a clause in any contract he signed. Kneel once and you’re out before the game starts.

I thought he said at the beginning of last season that he would no longer kneel because his point had been made. It tells me he didn’t want to get picked up, this is now totally political.

When you’ve lost the Seahawks you know your leftwing activism has gone too far.

He’s a career .500 QB, not worth the BS that comes with him.

Seahawk’s management read this probably the same way I do - “I’m too stupid to trust with an NFL offense and a locker room of 70+ players and coaches”.

In the immortal words of Buddy Ryan when asked the kind of player he likes to draft the response was “It’s easier to ask me what kind of player I don’t draft. And I don’t draft the dumb guy, because the dumb guy is gonna get ya beat every time.”

Krap ‘r Nick still has an open collusion suit against the league; his last shot at a payday from football (assuming he does not get a gig with another team, which will not happen after this brain fart). He just reinforced the testimony from any front office called during the hearing — “Hell no, I wasn’t gonna offer him a contract. And I never mentioned whether I would or would not to any other NFL team front office executive or owner. There was no need to. Any shot his crappy play might have left him was gone with the sideshow crap when we are trying to win games and sell tickets.”

If the Hawks don’t sign him there’ll be yelling about racism regardless of the fact that he’s disruptive and a lousy QB.

Haven’t we all had enough of Kapernick’s games? He needs to be brought down and “hard”. I still refuse to watch any pro-football. NONE!!!!!

Kaepernick’s got some real bad misconceptions about the employer-employee relationship.

I think the league owners last year and this off season are answering your question with a resounding “YES”.

Since he would be a backup,
why pay him fo kneel during National Anthem?

If the liberal Sea Buzzards don’t want him, he is up crap creek.

"Kaepernick was set to workout for the Seattle Seahawks "

The word is, 'try-out', dummy.
