Remainder of article and photos are at link.
Also found the following version of the story in my attempt to verify the truth of the article:
Sausage dog helps find abandoned baby 6ft underground in storm drain
http://metro.co.uk/2018/04/10/sausage-dog-helps-find-abandoned-baby-6ft-underground-storm-drain-7456039/
There are more details and photos at this 2nd link. I was cautious about posting the UK paper's article because of possible copyright issues. Jimmy Nsubuga at the Metro Company in UK, wrote the 2nd article.

Looking at the photo of where they found the baby, I suspect it was put in the storm drain and washed to this point. That would explain the hypothermia and respiratory problems.
A miracle indeed.

The good part is the ending, the child will recover and is not dead.

Hooray for the rescued baby! These two people chose to get involved. Hopefully, a hot soapy shower will take care of the man’s Red Ant problem. The clothing will need to be burned.
More Drop Boxes are becoming available in this country for new mothers who do not want their children.

I love dogs too.
Grew up with hunting dogs and farm dogs for security. We had cats too, but not since I married (47 years ago), my wife is allergic to cats.

It would be best if it were know that a person could leave the infant at a hospital or other point that is always occupied.
But people who do this type of thing, are very desperate or very uneducated.

Surely GOD’s hand was in this. Not only for the child, but hopefully for some loving childless couple.
I do not envy them when the time comes to tell her that her that her birth mother care so little that she was treated like sewage.
Also that little dog deserve a great big steak!

For now, she has been named “April Grace”, which seems to be fitting.
