I’d think more than a few attorneys would see past their typical leftism to understand that the formerly inviolable attorney-client privilege just went down the toilet, but no.

The ACLU justifies the search by claiming the fraud exception to the attorney-client privilege. This means the affidavit of probable cause supporting the warrant had to allege facts supporting the conclusion the President and Cohen conspired to shield criminal conduct behind the attorney-client privilege. This “investigation” of the Trump Campaign has been going on for a year and no one has produced anything suggesting the President engaged in a crime related to the election. Now, we are simply supposed to accept the ACLU’s conclusion that there was a conspiracy involving the President but without knowing if it was connected to the election. It seems the ACLU is a defender of a person's rights so long as the person is not on the right.
