You are a better Christian than I am, I have tried to pray for Sessions and McCain, I just can’t. The anger rises to the top and overwhelms all good intentions. I am not proud of that.
I hope you are right, although, history is written by the winners. The winners apparently will be the left. Did we have any idea how deep the evil goes?
Praying for Sessions and McCain is not hard at all. What they—and we and everyone else—need most of all is a vibrant, growing, saving relationship with Jesus. That kind of faith transforms a person. You can’t love God with all your heart, mind, body and soul and concomitantly go around backstabbing and badmouthing people. It’s impossible.
So if you and I would like to see McCain and Sessions do an about face, and start treating Trump according to the Golden Rule, all we have to do is pray that their faith catches fire and completely transforms them. Win-win!!
Unless Sessions’ progeny are as stupid as rocks, they will hear both the Left and Right versions re Sessions. It won’t take a genius to figure out that he is beloved by the opposite party to which he belonged, and reviled by conservatives—of which he claimed to be one.
They may win a battle but they WILL LOSE the war. In the long term they ALWAYS do.
I stand by what I said.

I hope we are around to fight the “war.” Looking back through history there are so many parallels to Nazi Germany and the USA today. White Christians are being marginalized and demonized in our own country.
We are on an island by ourselves without the possibility of help coming from anywhere. What will our children face?
The phrase that helps me most is, “with God’s help.” With God’s help we can do what we could never do on our own. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to overcome our natural inclinations. I will pray for you. If you succeed in praying for Sessions and McCain, you will feel like a million bucks. [And remember, there is a huge upside. If Sessions and McCain started treating Trump the way they’d want to be treated, were they in his place, it would bless us all. The result would be unimaginably positive.]
If the raid had been on any other lawyer (and I do mean ANY other lawyer) they’d be livid.
There’s something missing in this thread. I don’t see any cheers for Sessions as a “white hat” or that he is making another of his multi-dimensional chess moves...or no mention of his 1800 sealed indictments.

This verse is about wisdom, but James’ description of God transcends that specific issue. If we sincerely ask things of God for our own good and the good of others, He gives generously and without reproach. Very encouraging!

That's why I retreat into the Declaration of Independence, then start by quoting the "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights" line to them.
Once I've established that they're "Declaration deniers", I can then begin taking them apart, piece by piece, moving back into the Constitution one step at a time.
