In a unanimous vote, the board of directors of Diamond State Port Corporation moved forward with preparations for a 50-year lease of the Port of Wilmington (Delaware) to GT USA Wilmington, a subsidiary of Gulftainer, on April 6, 2018. Gulftainer has already acquired a 35-year lease in Port Canaveral, Florida, as reported by investigative journalists Mary Fanning and Alan Jones.

Inside any one of the 3,000 containers a ship could transport into our country, is there potential for a Trojan horse operation? The answer is yes. There's always a chance one could find four or more cruise missiles armed with biological, chemical, electromagnetic pulse (EMP), nuclear, or conventional payloads. Lopez asserts that "you would never know the difference between the Russian Club-K container cruise missile launch system and an ordinary standard ocean container. They look exactly alike."

Very few of the containers percentage wise are ever given more than a cursory inspection. We remember the controversy in Port Canaveral at the time the negotiations were under way. In case you're not familiar with Port Canaveral, it is adjacent to KSC and a lot of launch pads run by SpaceX, USAF and NASA. Well, maybe not so much NASA these days.

Just make them start using clear containers like the backpacks the Parkland kids now have to use. You could also make the port a weapons-free-zone. (LOLing ar liberals)

So what's the solution?
I can think of one, but curious first to see how many readers and how much discussion this thread will generate.

You're kidding, right?

They can pack a few nukes in one of those things surrounded by dozens of crates containing Chinese made condoms... or poisoned dog treats... or Stainless dinnerware that isn't... or... you get the picture.

There are no nukes that cannot be tracked at all times. They give off signatures that cannot be prevented.

I know very little about nukes but wouldn’t lead sheets shield all nuclear emissions?

The security risk posed by these shipping containers is greatly exaggerated. This should have been obvious as soon as it was the subject of one of Chuck Schumer’s overbearing, alarmist weekly press conferences.

...Container ship ordered 6 miles out to sea for inspection after traces of radioactivity were found when it pulled into a U.S. port.

That’s why a BIG USCG Fleet is supposed to exist, STOP & INSPECT all incoming ships . Violators should also, discover the hard way, that the USCG ships are backed up by USN CVAs & SSNs with MK48s.

And, IIRC, the next port of call on its itinerary was to have been Norfolk.
