The retreat of ISIS since Trump entered the WH is astounding.

Yet, he receives no credit despite very much being involved in the military strategy that has brought them to their knees

The blast radius of that was only about 20 feet. Does anyone know if that is what they call the small diameter bomb (SDB)?

Small Diameter Bomb...

Most likely a rocket from a drone.

They don’t usually have a lot of explosive - probably between 10 and 20 pounds.

I knew what an SDB was, been working on systems to support accurate deployment of this for awhile. I had just never seen one in action. Designed to literally be dropped from high altitude where the plane/drone cant be seen or heard, and fly into the chimney of an apartment, devastate the inside of the apartment, and leave the neighbors undisturbed...well, more or less. :)

SDB...

Yes, a really good concept.

I Googled “blast radius” for the SDB, and came up with 50 feet.

Like you, I thought the blast radius on the video was quite small, so I assumed a rocket.

Also, on open ground like that, I assume they want a fragmentation weapon, and my understanding is that the SDB is a penetration weapon first, and a fragmentation weapon second.

I think like most bombs, there are several options for the warhead to choose from. Could be proximity frag, could be penetrator, etc.

SDB-I likely, though SDB-II is about to come on-line.

Altitude to be dropped varies and is not restricted to high altitude.

It has wings that pop out and it can fly and be re-targeted in-flight if need be.

Very precise.

SDB is not a penetrator. It has some inherent penetration capability to punch through walls and such, but it is primarily an anti-personnel/lightly armored weapon.

BFD.. Every ISIS fighter / jihadist is a top commander in waiting.

When the last slimy ass muslim POS ISIS fighter is eliminated then we’ve killed the top commander.
