Lived in Palmdale back in the 50’s and 60’s, it was a nice town.
Used to just step out the front door and walk out into the foothills to hunt quail and cotton tail rabbits.
It started turning into sh!t after the 65 Watts riots, a lot of those people started moving up there to get away from the ghetto, they just brought it with them.
Left for the Marine Corps in late 67 and never looked back.
Have a brother that still lives in the area; Palmdale, Littlerock, and Lancaster are all overrun by LA gang bangers and wetbacks now.
Brother lives out in Juniper Hills, far enough out he doesn’t have to put up with their crap except when he goes into town.
Does Zappa’s “Village of the Sun” make you nostalgic?
Except they all vote Dimocrat.
Yeah, it does.
Frank was a local boy, even played at our high school dances.
Makes me laugh that most people will never know what happened to the “Village of the Sun”.
It changed a lot in the late 60’s.
I rarely feel the sting of jealousy but that was definitely it right now.
I never heard about this one. I can only imagine what would happen if these same business owners took a stand like this now.
