Where are they? Seems like a wasted opportunity to get the DOJ Assistant Attorneys for the 5 major divisions within the DOJ.
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption; Government; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: gope; recess
On another note I would have liked to see the repeal of the FCC law allowing media to target the U.S. population with propaganda done in 2013. Instead of extending congressional recesses, we should be shortening them until they get the job done.

Enough Senators are coming back into town every three days, so the Congress is “still in session”.

This is actually
real. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 repealed the law preventing the federal government from broadcasting propaganda within the United States. That had been illegal since 1948.

Remember that a recess appointment is only temporary, and the judge who is appointed in recess has to face a confirmation vote after the current Senate term ends.
For this reason, you aren't likely to get a judge to accept a recess appointment unless he's already close to retirement anyway. Nobody else is going to give up a judicial post with lifetime tenure to accept an appointment that may be temporary.
I'm not sure what exactly that accomplishes.

IIRC, Mitch “The Bitch” McConnell has prevented President Trump from making any recess appointments since day one by keeping a few Senators there to appear in session.

Yes, we need real Conservatives in those positions.
To: SubMareener
The opposition party is the GOP. They are pathetic losers who are intentionally suppressing our President. I only vote GOP because I hate the DNC. The GOP does not share my values when it comes to ACTION. Their mealy mouth rhetoric is also an insult to Conservatives.

I think the entire concept of recess appointments needs to be done away with. It is a relic of a time when people had to possibly travel for weeks to get to DC. The Constitution requires advice and consent, and recess appointments are an unnecessary end-run around the Constitutional processes.
The fact that the approval process is broken in congress due to stupid rules is a procedural issue that congress itself needs to fix.It doesn't matter if it's a republican or democrat president. Recess appointments need to become a part of history rather than the present.
